What is a foodbank?
A food-bank is a local provision that is able to provide a 3 day supply of food and other items for genuine emergencies for those who find themselves in temporary hardship, with no other source of money or support. Situations such as rising costs, homelessness, debt, unemployment, benefit review or family breakdown can all lead to difficulties for individuals or families. There are an estimated 2000 food-banks in the UK, and during 2016-17 an estimated 1.2 million people were fed by food-banks.*

Who are we?
New Life Community Larder is an independent food bank, based in Sleaford and covering the North Kesteven area. It was started in Oct 2008 in response to requests from local organisations who identified that there was an unmet need in the town/district.
We are supported by volunteers and come under the New Life Church Ministries (Sleaford) umbrella - a registered charity (reg charity no; 1153603). The larder is stocked entirely by donations from local businesses, schools and churches who provide produce such as tins and packets, often through their harvest festival celebrations. These items create a central stock that are used in the food parcels, whilst financial donations enable us to provide milk, bread, essential toiletries and nappies.
